Never wash the dum dum tales

Childhood is a magical period of life for some and sadly a nightmare for others.
During times of anxiety, fear, loneliness or illness many of us will have had the comfort of a Dum Dum or Blanky or Silky or whatever you may have called it.
Typically it was a soft toy or a crib blanket or a favourite item of clothing that over time developed a special smell and feel, unique to each child.
In order to provide comfort to many children that need it I am donating some of the revenue from the attached story about my daughter’s comforter, Dum Dum to The NSPCC.
In addition I am collecting stories about other people’s Dum Dums and would appreciate it if you could help in two ways.
Firstly forward this to as many people you know and ask them to help
Secondly, tell me about yours’ if you had one, or anyone else's that you know about.
Just answer the 6 questions below and return it to me
Thanks for your help
David
What was it?
What was it made of
What was it called
Do you still have it & how long have you had it?
Can you provide a picture? Now or later?
Are there any stories about it that you would be happy to share?
( Was it eaten by the dog, lost at sea, sent to Japan on an aeroplane, or left on a bus?)
ps: If you do not have time to tell the story but would be happy to do so at a later date either via email or over the telephone just put your contact details here and I will get in touch.
